Benjakitti Park: A MUST-SEE new greenspace in central Bangkok!

Where?
Bangkok welcomes you to its latest project; a naturalistic public park located only a 15
minute walk from or 1 MRT station from our hotel. Surrounded by skyscrapers, shopping
malls and office buildings lies the newly renovated Benjakitti park, a perfect spot to get a
breath of fresh air in the midst of the bustling city.

When?

First opened in 1994, Benjakitti has finally completed its expansion into nearly 300 rai (approx 480,0000 square meters) of massive green space. Benjakitti welcomes both early birds and night owls, opening at 5am and closing its gates at 9pm every day.

What to do?

The Park provides Bangkokians and tourists with a new, impressive, picturesque greenspace which includes native tree species, freshwater plants, ponds and mangroves. This can all be appreciated by either taking a stroll through the nature trail or a run on the newly renovated tracks or by cycling along the bicycle path which provides visitors with two lanes; a faster and slower lane. You can also rent and paddle a swan-shaped boat across the lake. Ultimately, it’s the ideal green space to do a variety of fun exercises whilst on your vacation in Bangkok.

Nonetheless, if you are looking for a place just to sit, relax and enjoy the city views whilst immersing yourself in nature, Benjakitti has got just the spot! Located on the western side of the park is a large grass lawn surrounded by a half amphitheater. Here, you’ll find people sunbathing, reading books or throwing around a frisbee across the lawn.

What to expect?

In the future, Benjakitti plans to have an indoor sports center, a museum, rice paddy fields, and more facilities for recreational activities, so be sure to keep an eye out! It is a wonderful place for all types of tourists, whether you are traveling alone, with friends or with family, this park definitely has something for everyone. Be sure to check it out during your stay with us!
